“Everyone is the architect of their own learning.”
Claudius
This is an amazing statement by Claudius. Like our
future our education can be manipulated by us and molded to our standards, but
like future consequences we must be held accountable for our decisions. The
statement above utilizes a superb figurative example conveying the student as
the architect and their education as their building. For example, say a student
attends all of his classes and completes all of his work while another student
does not complete his work and when transported to school does not actually
enter the premises. Which of these students will likely have a more promising
future? Well it is obviously the one who is setting up an adequate foundation
for himself within his education. Let us compare these two students to two
managers; the adequate student always instructs his employees on the proper
procedures if a fire ever occurs inside of the building while the inadequate
student vaguely explains the procedure to his employees. If there was ever a fire
then the adequate student’s employees will most likely exit the building without
sustaining any mortal injuries. As said before the consequences derived from
our decisions will impact many as well as yourself.
