Student Success Statement
“The man who has no imagination has no wings.”
Muhammad Ali

This is an amazing statement by Muhammad Ali. Imagination is vital for the creation of ambitions which allow you to succeed. This quote figuratively explains that without any imagination then you will not be able to succeed. Imagination is vitally associated with creativity which then leads to the creation of ambitions and the completion of those ambitions. If were to perceive the world with no imagination what so ever then I believe that it would be a barren world yearning for creativity with mindless individuals confused and wandering around with no purpose. Without imagination we aren’t able to excavate the infinite possibilities that are bestowed to us by our imaginations therefore we will not aspire to accomplish anything and all humans would be rendered fruitless with no wings to elevate those selected individuals toward success.

It Is Online, but Is It On Target?

It Is Online, but Is It On Target?
Part 2

Research with a Skeptical Attitude

Conduct your research with the attitude of a skeptic. As you examine websites for clues that proves them to be trustworthy, ask yourself these questions:

·        Who published the web page? If you can’t identify the individual or organization responsible for the information, don’t use it.

·        What are the author’s qualifications for writing on the subject?

·        Has the article passed through an editorial process to ensure quality and accuracy?

·        What is the websites purpose? Identify motives --- such as selling products or winning votes for an election --- that could result in biased or incomplete/ misleading information.

·        Is the information accurate? Has it been updated?

·        What are the author’s sources for reference?

Take Control of Homework: So It Doesn't Take Control of You: Part 1

Take Control of Homework
So It Doesn’t Control You
Part 1
http://www.collegeboard.com/student/plan/boost-your-skills/121.html

Although very few students love homework, it does serve a purpose. Homework helps:

·        Reinforce what you’ve learned during the day.

·        Build study habits that are essential in college/ university.

·        Prepare for your classes.

·        Establish a sense of progress.

Here are some tips to help you deal with homework more efficiently and effectively.

Set the Method

Create a good study area with everything you need (for example, a calculator). If you don’t have a quiet place at home, try your school or local library.

Know Where to Begin

Make a list of everything you need to do, and note all deadlines. Do the more difficult assignments first, so you don’t have to face them at the end.

Study at the Same Time Every Day

Even if you don’t have homework every night, use the time to review notes. If sitting down to work is part of your normal routine, you’ll approach it with less dread. Also, you’ll become a pro at using time productively.

“In life as in football, you won’t go far, unless you know where the goalposts are.”
Arnold Glasgow

Mr. Glasgow’s quote is an amazing quote. No one can do anything unless they have a certain ambition or goal. Without goals or ambitions accomplishments would not have a foundation. Therefore, we would live in a disoriented and leaden world with no direction or purpose. Goals allow us to achieve and classify our aspirations and define our necessities. Imagine goals as a translator and our achievements as the language that is being translated. Goals motivate us and without any we would be lost and have no sense of urgency and purpose.

Examples of habits are: bitting your fingernails, truancy, eating a bag of chips a day, etc. habits are influenced upon us by either an outside entity (friends and family) or by our surroundings and ourselves. Habits are crafted and crafted thoughroughly making them hard to dismiss from our daily lives therfore, habits define you because they can either be good or bad and depending on the type of habit it can affect you tremendously.
