Time Management: 8 of 10

Time Management
8 of 10

Master the moments that require your time and you may become a professional when handling many demands on your time – classes, homework and activities --- with the aid of a family member. College/ University allow you the opportunity to sharpen your time management skills by allowing you to solitarily handle those situations.  That is benefitting since most careers require multitasking. You might need to satisfy a client while attempting to attract new ones, respond to e-mails while working on an important presentation, or order the next day’s produce while planning next week’s menu.

Someone said, “Wherever you are, be there.” Focus on your present objective. Do not allow your mind to wander and disengage your concentration. You cannot travel back in time and recapture this moment that is why you need to be diligent when focused on an objective. Master the present and you will master the future. Work intelligently by mastering prioritizing a current objective.

Problem Solving Skills: 4 of 10

Problem Solving Skills
4 of 10

Problem Solving consists of much more than solving mathematical problems. Every assignment grants you with an opportunity to carefully analyze all possible solutions and select the most reasonable solution. As a working professional, you’ll be solving problems regularly, whether it’s fixing a malfunctioning program in a computer or managing financial problems. Problem solving situations occur extensively and frequently; therefore you must be prepared if a situation arises.

When problems or challenges occur, some individuals negatively view the situation/ as a crisis. These are the individuals that complicate their lives and engulf themselves with negativism. Those really successful individuals on the other hand are very cheerful and optimistic and view problematic situations as opportunities in where they enhance their understanding of how things function and discover something new. They interpret many situations in a positive manner and live joyful lives.

“Improve your performance by improving your attitude.”
Anonymous

This is an amazing quote that portrays the importance of how your perception of a subject affects whether you are adequate at it or not. For example, let’s say that you hate soccer, but end up joining the soccer team and you are terrible at soccer. What is there left to do? The most adequate thing to do in your situation is to improve your attitude and “brighten” your perception of soccer. That is the only way in which you will receive positive results. If you perceive an activity as negative then when you participate in it your performance will be inadequate therefore prompting you to hate the activity.

How many shots can you make now?

Summary

Tony Farmer a top recruited basketball star was sentenced 3 years in prison upon several third and second degree felonies. Tony Farmer collapsed the floor after his sentence and looked distraught. Tony Farmer is accused of the attempted kidnapping of his girlfriend, stealing various items from her, and threatening her. His family was distraught when his sentence was announced.

Reflection

Why would this young man commit such things? I for one am very disappointed ant Tony farmer who could have had a successful future, but chose not to. As said by Brigham Young, “True Independence and Freedom Can Only Exist In Doing What Is Right.” This young man decided to do what is wrong and has “willingly” relinquished his freedom by committing improper and devious actions. I cannot stop thinking on how he could have avoided this disastrous situation.

“You must live in the present to secure your future.”
Reverend Robert Craig

This is an amazing quote by Robert Craig. To secure any chance of achievement you must focus on the objective itself at that time not in the future where you will lose the opportunity to achieve something. The reference of time is effective in portraying a sense of urgency. To succeed in something you must focus on that particular objective at that particular because in the near future you will be preoccupied with something else. Temporal adaption is required to succeed in certain situations that obligate us to do something at an undesired time, but you can either act at the correct time or wait and lose whatever chance you have of accomplishing something.

Balancing High School and Part-time Work: Part 4

Balancing High School and Part-time Work
Part 4

He reminds students that “the activities and courses students choose very considerably, so it’s important for young people to keep their individual situations clearly in mind.” MacGowan contains, “For example, student actors should allow for the fact that they won’t have as much time during performance seasons. Student athletes need to remember the times of year that they’ll be ties up with games and practices. Other students who are in classes that make considerable demands outside of the classroom must keep that reality in mind.”

“To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice.”
Confucius

Confucius is establishing an amazing subject in this extraordinary quote. If you know that what has to be done is the correct thing to doing a certain situation and that it is your responsibility to do it then you should, but if you do not then you are the worst of the cowards. Individuals who exhibit cowardice are only exhibiting this because they are afraid of responsibility which makes them even worse than a coward. Once the individual experiences a situation in where they do have to take responsibility for their actions then will they comprehend the values of responsibility.

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
Thomas Carlyle

This is an amazing quote by Mr. Carlyle. A man without a goal cannot experience either the consequences or benefits of his/ her actions. A man without a goal does not establish any and wanders aimlessly and has goals set upon him by others and does not realize anything. Without a goal you do not have any stability and do not know where to navigate in life because they do not expect anything from themselves and rarely do anything to benefit from. The rudder is an important of a ship then without it the ship cannot propel itself properly and will be maneuvered by the waves and the wind later to end up in a random destination. Those who let themselves be maneuvered by others like the ship will end up in a random situation which is mostly an unpleasant one. A man without a goal is deprived of purpose and will not accomplish anything that will benefit him, but will compensate others by fulfilling their desires either good or bad.

“Success is dependent on effort.”
- Sophocles, Greek dramatist
This is an amazing quote by the exquisite philosophers the Sophocles. Effort is displayed in any situation and determines the outcome. Many people display effort and succeed while many others do not and end up failing therefore you must display effort no matter what the situation might be because if you do not display any effort at all you will not even accomplish anything. Sometimes it’s hard to display effort in a certain situation that is unpleasant, but if you do then the outcome will generally be positive and you will succeed in either accomplishing something or assisting someone who wants to accomplish something. Success is only marked by effort and failure is marked by the lack of effort/ not taking action for the situation.
