How to Take on College Studying: Part 2

How to take on College Studying
Part 2

Choose Where to Study

Where you should study depends on two factors: the environment in which you are best able to concentrate and the type of work you are planning to do.

·        The best places to study have good light, a comfortable temperature and enough desk space --- usually your dorm room, your dorm room or library.

·        For completing problem sets or brainstorming possible test questions, you may want to study with a group or at least in a setting where fellow students are available for discussion.

·        When you are reading book chapters or working on a research paper, you are probably better off in a less social environment.

Improve Your Study Habits

Here are simple steps you can take to help you get a handle on studying:

·        Have a routine for where and when you study:

·        Choose reasonable and specific goals that you can accomplish for each study session.

·        Do things that are harder and require more intense thought at most productive time of the day.

·        Take breaks if you need them so you don’t waste time looking at material but not absorbing it.

·        Get to know students whom respect and can study with or contact to ask questions.

·        Keep up with the workload and seek help when you need it.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!

S.S.S

Student Success Statement
"So often, in our quest to be more popular and to be part of the "in-group," we lose sight of things that are far more important."
Sean Covey
This is an amazing quote by Mr. Covey that I 100% agree with. Many youths want to be popular and want to be noticed as well as admired by others. One example is a kid wanting to become popular and to obtain popularity buys new shoes that are expensive not aware of his family's economical state. I was talking to one of my friends that other day and he told me that he was considering acquiring a piercing, but I convinced him to question his motives, he only wanted to get one to be noticed and be "cool" which is absurd. Many youths today appear to have no limit when their motives pretain to popularity and that frightens me. many youths will go to extremes to be noticed and gain popularity, but are they achieving popularity in a beneficial way or are they just throwing the beneficial and good factors of their life away? That's a question that they will have to answer themselves.
