This is an amazing quote by former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden. You can never prosper if you complain about doing things that will benefit you later on. For example, if you are complaining to your Physical Education instructor that you do not want to run, that it’s hard, and so on while you are not aware that by running you will improve your time on the mile test. Those who whine, complain, and formulate excuses for what they cannot do are blinded by doubt which can deferment their ability to prosper. These “Don’ts” express the fundamental attributes that are essential for success.

This is an amazing statement by former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden. This quote symbolizes three ideals by which he followed: Never Cheat, Never Lie, and Never Steal. All of these values are honorable and are worthy of being taught because they are the fundamentals to being an honorable and prosperous individual.

The academic rigor of your high school courses is an important factor in the college admission process. College admissions officers see your high school course schedule as a blueprint of your education. They’re looking for a solid foundation of learning that you can build on in college.

To create that foundation, take at least solid academic classes every semester. Start with the basics and then move on to advanced courses. Challenging yourself is a part of what makes school fun; but you need a firm grasp of the fundamentals before going on to more advanced work.
